Simba was one of several animals at a facility in Alabama whose owner fell ill and could not care for them. The Wildcat Sanctuary stepped in and contacted Popcorn Park to see if we could help. We expedited the renovation of our big cats den to accept Simba, Porsche, Odin, and Tara in August 2014. 

Simba is a 15 year old lion who lived alone since his brother's death in 2012. He arrived severely underweight, but adjusted very quickly, looking for attention from staff. He expressed an immediate interest in Nyla, our lioness, who is next door. In early November, after he'd settled in, Simba was checked for a possible heart murmur, and given a much needed bath.
