My Story

Jules

Jules is a beautiful tiger who lives with her brother, Jonathan at Popcorn Park.  Born on April 25, 2015, the pair spent their early years living at several different zoos in Canada before settling at Cherry Brook Zoo in June 2017.  However, when Cherry Brook Zoo announced its closure in April 2020, the siblings again found themselves searching for a new home. Zoo staff contacted a variety of institutions in Canada, hoping to relocate the tigers together, however no Canadian agency was willing or able to house them permanently.

When our staff at Popcorn Park heard of their plight we knew we had to find a way to help. Our team began making peparations for their arrival, however, given the challenges of the Covid-19 pandemic along with the intricacies of foreign travel, their rescue was not a simple one. Thankfully, the Granby Zoo in Canada was able to house and care for the pair of felines while arrangements could be made for their transportation. It took two long years of preparation and planning, but finally Jules and Jonathan were transported to Popcorn Park along with two lions, Aslan and Savannah, on June 26, 2022.

The pair settled in to their new home nicely, and we quickly saw their personalities shine. Jules, in particular, proved to be the embodiment of spunk and playfulness. She spends her days exploring her enclosure, chasing after enrichment toys, and engaging in boisterous play sessions with her brother. She is full of grace and agility, embracing each day with a zest for life that is both inspiring and endearing.

Popcorn Park is Jules' 4th home in her lifetime, and we are glad to provide her with a stable, lifelong home in our Refuge. Jules would love to have you as a sponsor! We know you will come to love this playful girl just as much as we do!
