Gandalf is one of four baboons who arrived at Popcorn Park on the evening of December 27th, 2015. They had belonged to an elderly, terminally ill man who could no longer care for them, and through the compassion of an animal transporter, the four bachelors were given a bright future at our refuge. As we got to know these four incredibly intelligent animals, we realized they had an established social order that maintained a harmony within the group.

Gandalf is the most dominant of the four baboons, although he has a right-hand man in Aragorn. They are both brothers and kings, and they protect everyone. However, in watching Gandalf's body language when he is grunting/talking, it is apparent that he is the decision-maker of the four.
