If you hear the beautiful impersonation of an opera singer, there’s a good chance you’re hearing Buddy! Buddy is our very sweet Yellow Crowned Parrot with an interesting back story. In the fall of 2019, we received a call from a resident in Berkley that he found a parrot in his backyard! We quickly dispatched our Animal Control Officers (ACOs) and happily welcomed Buddy into our feathered family. Buddy has made herself right at home and we have enjoyed her company ever since. 

Buddy quickly became a staff favorite; with her sweet and chirpy personality, she’s stolen the hearts of us all! But most of all, she caught the eye of her neighbor, Billie. Ever since the two became neighbors Billie will stay on the side of his enclosure closest to his beloved Buddy. The two will chat with each other all day long! The two “love birds” enjoy their summer days out in the Refuge where they love to say hello to visitors and sponsors.
