This blue-eyed beauty is Aruba! In May of 2023, Aruba was removed from an unfit home and when she arrived at our Newark shelter, she was dehydrated and unhealthy. Aruba needed some extra TLC and time to get back on her feet. She was transferred down to our AHS Forked River shelter so her recovery could continue.
Once she was healthy, Aruba had to learn to trust people all over again. Today, Aruba is like a whole new dog! YES, she still needs to get to know you before she'll trust you fully, but that doesn't take long at all and once she knows you, you're her buddy for life.
Aruba has some special medical needs which have made it tougher for her to find just the right home. This pretty girl is deaf but has proven to use that she is not letting her disability hold her back! Aruba is a smart cookie who has been working diligently with our wonderful training team. She is learning hand signals, which she follows very well. Aruba has received a good deal of training and knows perfectly well how to behave.
Aruba loves other dogs and enjoys joining our staff and volunteers on outings all over the county! She loves car rides, playing, and has the silliest personality!
Aruba is so deserving of a fresh start in life and we know the right person will find her one day! Until that time, she'd love to have you as a sponsor!
