Peggy's Rescue Story:

In September 2011, Peggy was dumped in a fenced-in area of a Maryland park. A local resident found her and brought her to a small "sanctuary" where she gave birth to 4 piglets just days after arrival. Unfortunately, the “sanctuary” provided her with very little care and months later, Peggy was found hiding in a shed, suffering from a severe leg injury. The “sanctuary” refused to treat her, until a kind volunteer arranged for Peggy to be seen by a vet. X-rays revealed a femur broken in three places, requiring extensive surgery but the sanctuary refused to cover the costs. Thankfully, Peggy was brought to Popcorn Park for surgery, rehab, and lifelong care. Today, Peggy enjoys a spacious area with her best friend, a goat named Callie, and spends her days happily munching on grass.
