Croc's Rescue Story:
Croc, our resident Spectacled Caiman, arrived at Popcorn Park in 1987 after being rescued from the exotic pet trade industry. Bought as a baby, Croc quickly became too large and difficult for her owner to care for, prompting Fish and Wildlife to step in. Now, Croc lives in our climate-controlled Reptile House during the winter and enjoys an outdoor pond at Caiman Corner, in the warmer months. Despite their appeal as pets, Caimans require specialized care, which many people are unable to provide. Croc's story helps raise awareness about the challenges of keeping exotic animals as pets. We're proud to give her the care she needs to thrive.
