Amy's Rescue Story:
Amy, a human-raised doe, was found wandering the streets of Sussex County, a busy part of the New York Metropolitan area. Accustomed to humans as a food source, she often approached people, creating concerns for her safety and health. Fortunately, a NJ Fish & Wildlife Officer spotted Amy and carefully secured her, arranging for her safe transport to Popcorn Park. We honored Amy by naming her after the officer who saved her, and she’s been part of our Refuge ever since. Amy still loves human interaction and is often the first to greet visitors, always eager for friendly company.
