Tess is a female snow macaque who, while on a harness and leash, would entertain and educate groups or classes her original owner held. When Tess reached maturity, she began to challenge her owner in order to become the alpha female. Tess could no longer be part of the outreach education program and had to stay in her enclosure most of the time. That just seemed to make matters worse, so her owner reached out to Popcorn Park and we graciously accepted Tess. She loves the attention of staff, especially grooming them. She loves seeing visitors of all ages! She has a great diet here, and a spacious indoor and outdoor area just her own. 

Tess is a real sweetheart, she’ll grunt a little bit to get your attention and then she calls you over with her eyes and reaches out to groom you. She’s hard to resist. When you do go over and she starts grooming you through the fence, be sure you have the time and don’t have to be anywhere for the next 15 or 20 minutes, because she won’t let you go. She loves all the attention she can get, if you walk by without acknowledging her she will let you know, screaming until you do so. 

Tess’s favorite dinner starts with a peanut butter and jelly, then she’ll move on to a piece of rotisserie chicken, and then some pasta. She loves her fruit, grapes and her oranges the most, and she eats all her monkey biscuits. She definitely has a sweet tooth and likes a couple small marshmallows (that’s all we give her, she would eat a whole bag if she could) with her breakfast. Pease consider sponsoring sweet Tess today!
