Farm Animals
South and his brother North were born to one of two sheep we rescued in late 2015. Our Tinton Falls shelter had gotten calls around Labor Day about two “goats” wandering the southbound lanes of the Garden State Parkway.
About a month later, they were reported on the northbound side. AHS Animal Control Officers spotted them and devised a clever way of corralling the so-called “goats”, and brought them back to the shelter. The white sheep, who we named Reeba, was clearly the mother of the black sheep we named Sheeba, and looked quite thick around the middle. The reason? Shortly after her arrival Reeba gave birth to two white lambs, both male, soon named South and North. The little family moved to Popcorn Park in early Spring 2016. The foursome was a tight-knit little herd from the beginning, and determining distinctive personalities has been a challenge.
Sadly Reeba passed away in early 2019 and Sheeba in late 2020.
The two boys are still super close and have made many friends! Won't you be their newest one and please consider sposnoring North or South today!
