My Story

 North the Parkway Sheep

North and his brother South were born to one of two sheep we rescued in late 2015. Our Tinton Falls shelter had gotten calls around Labor Day about two “goats” wandering the southbound lanes of the Garden State Parkway. About a month later, they were reported on the northbound side. Soon after that, AHS Animal Control Officers spotted them and devised a clever way of corralling the so-called “goats”, and brought them back to the shelter.

The white sheep, who we named Reeba, was clearly the mother of the black sheep we named Sheeba, and looked quite thick around the middle. The reason? Shortly after her arrival Reeba gave birth to two white lambs, both male, soon named North and South. The little family moved to Popcorn Park in early 2016. The foursome was a tight-knit little herd from the beginning, and determining distinctive personalities has been a challenge. Over the past few years sadly Sheeba and Reeba have both crossed the rainbow bridge! North thankfully has his twin brother South and many friends here at Popcorn Park! Please consider sponsoring North today!
