Pike used to be known as “The Turnpike Goat” until he found his way to Popcorn Park in 2014. Pike found himself in a very precarious situation as a young goat, living near Exit 7 on the New Jersey Turnpike. For over a year, he had been spotted sleeping on overpass beams and dodging heavy traffic on the busy highway. Thankfully, the combined efforts of Bordentown Animal Control Officers, New Jersey State Police, and Popcorn Park veterinarian, Dr. Bergmann, led to his rescue on October 3rd. Their coordinated teamwork allowed police to stop traffic while Pike was safely captured and relocated away from the roadway.
Following his rescue, Pike received two days of attentive care at the Burlington County Animal Shelter before being welcomed at Popcorn Park. He joined our goat herd, making fast friends with his new buddies. Pike has quite the curious personality! He provides a watchful eye over the Refuge from the comfort of his perch and will prop his feet up on the fence to check out Park happenings! He is a friendly goat who enjoys head scratches, treats, and lots of attention from our staff.
We are honored to provide Pike with a lifelong home. He spends his days enjoying a peaceful life at Popcorn Park, free from the risks he once faced and full of endless love.
Pike would love to have you sponsor his care to help fill his days with security and all the TLC he could ask for!
