Mickey arrived at Popcorn Park in 2009 after the passing of his previous owner. At the time, he was already living with special needs, including being blind in one eye, and required daily medication to stay healthy. We were happy to offer him a safe, permanent home where he could receive the care and attention he deserved. Since then, Mickey has become an important part of our community, and we make sure he’s always comfortable and well taken care of.

Over the years, Mickey has developed a calm, easygoing demeanor, enjoying the simple pleasures in life. He’s incredibly social and loves spending time with his keepers. Food, of course, is a major highlight of his day—he’s always up for a tasty treat, whether it's hay or something extra special. Mickey is all about enjoying life at his own pace, and his sweet, laid-back personality makes him a favorite among everyone who meets him.

Mickey also enjoys the companionship of his next-door neighbor, Jezebel, a donkey who shares his space and provides him with constant company. Their bond adds to Mickey's happiness, as the two spend their days near each other, offering each other comfort and companionship. Though they have their own spaces, Mickey and Jezebel find plenty of ways to interact and enjoy each other's company, which helps keep Mickey’s spirits high.

Caring for Mickey means more than just providing him with food and shelter. As a senior horse with special medical needs, Mickey requires daily medication and regular check-ups to ensure he stays healthy and comfortable. Our dedicated staff is always on hand to monitor his health and ensure his needs are met, from medication to maintaining a safe, comfortable environment.
