Meet Mickey, our one-of-a-kind African Grey Parrot, born in January 2001! Mickey spent the early part of her life in a loving home, but when her owner's new partner entered the picture, Mickey made it clear that she wasn't keen on sharing attention. Ultimately, her owner made the difficult decision to find Mickey a new home, and in 2004, Mickey found her way to Popcorn Park, where she has been ever since.

Mickey is a vibrant, curious, and inquisitive parrot who loves to be the center of attention. As an African Grey, she’s known for her intelligence, and she shows it in how she engages with our staff and visitors. Mickey’s interactions are always full of personality, whether she’s happily showing off her favorite toys or making her opinions known. She’s a natural when it comes to socializing and enjoys spending time with anyone who wants to give her attention.

To keep Mickey mentally stimulated and happy, we make sure she has plenty of enrichment activities. From shredding newspapers to chewing on bird-safe toys, Mickey is always busy. We also provide her with a variety of fruits and nuts, ensuring she has the nutrients she needs to stay healthy and full of energy. Whether she’s playing with toys or relaxing in her space, Mickey thrives on mental and physical stimulation.

Mickey’s fun-loving and sociable nature also makes her an incredible ambassador for her species. She’s an active member of our education team, traveling to schools, events, and public programs to help spread awareness about conservation and wildlife education. Mickey loves meeting new people and enjoys showing off her playful personality, all while educating visitors about African Greys and the importance of environmental stewardship.
