Affectionately known around the Refuge as Rick and Reba, these adorable bobcat siblings arrived in January 2025 when they were only a few months old. Born on July 4, 2024, Rick and Reba were part of an unexpected litter at a zoo in Arizona. With more bobcats than they could properly care for, the zoo reached out to us for help, ensuring Ricky and Reba would have a safe and enriching place to grow. Now settling into their new home, the duo has been thriving—exploring their habitat, perfecting their pouncing skills, and bonding with their caregivers.
Bobcats are one of North America’s most adaptable wildcats, found in forests, deserts, and even suburban areas. Despite their small size compared to other wild cats, they are skilled hunters known for their stealth and agility. These elusive felines are usually solitary in the wild, but Ricky and Reba share a special sibling bond that makes watching them even more fascinating.
