My Story
Meet Sweetheart & Garnet
Sweetheart and Garnet spent most of their lives together on a farm in Freehold, New Jersey, before arriving at Popcorn Park in February 2019, when their owner could no longer care for them. We were happy to welcome the pair into our sanctuary, where they quickly settled into their new home!
Born on Valentine's Day, it's only fitting that these sweet girls have so much love to share. Curious, playful, and incredibly social, Sweetheart and Garnet make the most of every day. They love playing a spirited game of "King of the Hill," taking turns spinning in circles and gently nudging one another off their favorite wooden platform. When playtime is over, you'll often find them side by side, happily munching on hay together from one of their favorite hangout spots.
Like most goats, these sisters have healthy appetites! Browse is one of their favorite treats, and they eagerly nibble on pine needles, leafy branches, and other fresh cuttings that provide both enrichment and a taste of nature. They're also known for poking their heads through the fence to greet visitors and enjoy spending time with their next-door neighbors, Tic and Toc the sheep.
Though their sister, Pearl, is no longer with us, her memory lives on in the close bond that Sweetheart and Garnet continue to share. Watching these lifelong companions together is a wonderful reminder of the comfort, friendship, and joy animals bring one another.
