Pixie arrived at Popcorn Park in 2003 after spending twenty years with a loving family. She had always been well cared for, but as she grew older, behavioral challenges began to create unsafe situations in the home. Despite how much they loved her, her family knew Popcorn Park could provide the specialized care and attention she needed. After much consideration, they made the difficult decision to bring Pixie here, knowing she would have a safe and loving forever home.

Since arriving at the Refuge, Pixie has become a favorite among our staff thanks to her sweet and gentle nature. Over the years, she has formed a very special bond with Charlie, the capuchin monkey, and the two now happily reside together. They spend their days enjoying each other’s company, sharing meals and enrichment, and relaxing side by side.

Pixie especially loves treats, grapes are a particular favorite, though she also enjoys a little milk now and then as a special snack. She is calm, affectionate, and always curious about what her keepers are up to. The family that once cared for her still visits regularly, often bringing her mail to open, one of her favorite activities!

Though Pixie’s story began with challenges, today she is a happy and beloved resident of Popcorn Park, surrounded by care, companionship, and enrichment every day.
