Lillith and Marigold have just arrived from a local breeder in need of extensive medical treatment. We need your support to help them heal from their traumatic past and begin their new lives.
Lillith and Marigold are two of our most recent rescue dogs, arriving at the end of July from a breeder in Newark, NJ. These two ladies are purebred French Bulldogs and came to us from a Good Samaritan who intervened on their behalf. Unfortunately, these little ladies spent their young lives being bred and living in neglectful conditions. Lil and Mari went directly into foster homes, where they are receiving urgent medical attention. We are hopeful that they will make a full recovery, but they are being carefully monitored and treated as they heal from their painful conditions.

Marigold is about 2 years old and the younger of the pair. Unfortunately, all four of her feet were stuck through the wire crate flooring. The crate wires needed to be carefully cut and removed to free her feet and toes. This has left Mari suffering from a severe infection in her feet. Her left front foot is in the worst condition, with bone exposed, some toes broken, and a deep, infected wound where the wires had dug into her skin. Since she was stuck and unable to move, Mari was unable to eat or drink for several days and arrived severely dehydrated. Mari is also experiencing infections in both ears and some hair loss, though those are the less emergent issues. |

Lillith, the older of the pair at about 4 years old, arrived with a severely prolapsed rectum, requiring immediate surgical treatment. Due to the severity, our veterinarian was initially unsure if the damage could be repaired. However, after a meticulous and delicate procedure, the surgery appears successful. In addition to her prolapsed rectum, Lil was also underweight, likely from the pain and difficulty of eating due to her condition. Like Mari, Lil also has ear infections that need attention. |
Their road to recovery is a challenging one. Mari is battling severe infections and broken bones while Lil needs a special diet, careful monitoring, and possibly additional surgeries. Both Frenchies are in excellent hands, receiving intensive care in foster with some of our veterinary staff members. They are receiving fluids to combat dehydration, antibiotics, nutritious meals, and other medications to help them heal.
Despite their very poor medical condition, both Frenchies could not be sweeter! The pair is soaking up every ounce of love and care they can get, and their little tails won't stop wagging, despite the pain they surely feel. The relief of rescue is evident in their eyes, and you can tell that they are so grateful to finally receive the care they need.
Please consider making a donation on their behalf to help support their ongoing medical care. Their past has certainly been rough, but with your help, we are dedicated to providing them with a happy and healthy future!
Thank you for your support!
