On Giving Tuesday, we spotlight the extraordinary rescue stories, like Biscuit. At barely 6 months old, Biscuit was discovered huddled at the base of a tree on a frigid November morning by a vigilant jogger. Upon arriving at our shelter, she received the immediate care she needed —fluids, warmth, and nourishment. No puppy should ever experience the heartache of abandonment, but thankfully Biscuit is now on the path to recovery in a loving foster home, celebrating her first Thanksgiving embraced by care and love.
Unfortunately Biscuit's story is all too common. Behind the scenes, our team works tirelessly to transform these stories of hardship into hope, investing in rescue and rehabilitation. For over a century, the Associated Humane Societies and Popcorn Park Animal Refuge has offered a haven help these animals - animals who have been abandoned, neglected, and forgotten.
