Charlie the Golden Retriever Puppy Emergency Surgery Needed for 6 Month Old Stray With a Broken Leg
RAISED $14,386.00
GOAL $10,000.00
Found as a stray with a broken femur, Charlie needs our help to save his leg!
Who can resist these soulful puppy eyes? Meet Charlie! He's a 6 month old Golden Retriever puppy who just arrived at our Newark shelter. Found as a stray in Rahway, his rear leg was very bruised and swollen to nearly double it's normal size. Charlie walked with a pronounced limp and it was obvious he needed immediate medical attention. He was brought to an offsite emergency veterinary hospital where x-rays discovered that his femur was completely broken in two.
We can't imagine the pain this precious boy was in or the fear he must have felt as he roamed the streets but we do know he is in excellent hands now.
Charlie will need emergency surgery to save his leg, followed by months of rehabilitative treatment. The cost for Charlie's care is costly and estimated to be around $10,000. Please consider donating towards Charlie's care and medical expenses.
We will likely never know what Charlie has experienced during his first 6 months of life, but together we can make sure that his future is bright.
